WHAT IS ‘FAITH AT HOME’?

Faith at Home is there to help parents raise children to walk with Jesus. The idea for Faith at Home came out of a passion to see children and young people become fully devoted followers of Christ and to see them living their lives in response to all that God has done for them. A key part of that is enabling to live as a disciple outside of Sunday mornings… being a disciple is far more than a Sunday thing! Faith has to be more than just once a week at church. Sundays are a really important part of helping children in their faith, but what about the other 6 days of the week?!

RESOURCES

Below, you’ll find loads of resources that will help you and your children on your journey with Jesus. If you come across any other things which you’ve found helpful, do send them over, as we’d love to share them!

VIDEOS FROM CHRIST CHURCH SURBITON

During the first lockdown, we created some fun family worship sessions entitled Faith at Home… they’re still available on YouTube… check them out here. From September 2020 - July 2021, we ran a weekly YouTube show, CCKIDS, which is available here.

PRAYER

It’s really important that we continue to pray for each other in these difficult times. Here’s a prayer that children can pray for their grownups at home. We often join in with Thy Kingdom Come, an annual prayer event… visit the TKC website for some brilliant family prayer resources. We’ve also got some prayers for Uganda, our Tearfund link and for the nation of Senegal, where our friend Beryl is a missionary.

Boiler Room Family Prayer

As Lockdown 3.0 began, we launched Boiler Room Family Prayer… a series of 5 prayer activities for families to do together. You can catch up with them here.

The author, Sally Lloyd-Jones, also has a blog which has some more great resources and ideas. We also found a reading plan with some discussion questions which might help frame your reading and worship.
