Prayer

We believe that Church is God's idea, built by him and for his fame so that everyone can know his life and love.

Because of this, the most important thing we do as a church family is to pray together - facing up to our need of him and asking him to work. If we don't pray, then anything else we do is in vain.

Boiler Room Prayer

Boiler Room Prayer, which takes place on the first Monday of the month at 8pm in the Church Lounge, is an opportunity to pray together at Christ Church.

We’re convinced at Christ Church that prayer changes everything, and that if we want to see God at work in our church and community, the best thing we can do is to pray. That’s why we’d love for you to be there.

This is going to be a no-frills time to worship, ask for God to be with us, and to pray for our mission and ministry. Our commitment is to these things, which we believe will light a fire at the heart of our church, and so we’re going to leave as much time as possible in our hour together for them. So if you’d like to be a part of seeing God at work in our church, do make sure that you’re there!

Kingdom Come

Throughout the year, we put aside special time together to pray and worship. We do this for two reasons:

  1. We believe that prayer and worship are foundational to everything we do as a church. We know we need God's power at work in and through us if we're going to see lives changed and God's Kingdom come in our community. Through prayer, we believe God hears our requests and acts in the world, and in worship, we give him the glory and praise that is His due.
  2. We believe that prayer and worship are transformational. As we seek God's presence, He will be at work growing, shaping and building us up to be more like Jesus.

We'd love for you to join us at these Kingdom Come events, for some or all of the time, so please do get the dates in your diary!

Kingdom Come Day of Prayer

On our Days of Prayer, which usually last from 10am to 9pm, there is time and space throughout the day to pray by yourself, with some resources available throughout the church to help guide you as you do this. There are areas to help you pray for yourself and your friends, for our church and community, and for the world.

As well as this, we have a few led sessions throughout the day to help us pray in some particular ways. These sessions will last for approximately 45 minutes, and you can feel free to pick just one of the sessions that interests you, and perhaps give yourself a bit of extra time before or afterwards to explore the prayer spaces around the church.

Kingdom Come Night of Worship

On a Night of Worship, which happens more regularly throughout the year and begins at 8pm, we spend extended time worshiping God, seeking to listen to Him speak to us, and responding to what He does amongst us. This might look a little different from evening-to-evening but will always include times of sung worship, prayer and a reflection on God's Word. There is also always lots of space to help us each to engage with what God is doing in our own hearts.

It's our prayer that these evenings would be times of significant encounter and transformation and that as we intentionally gather to seek God and praise Him, He will be at work in our hearts in a way that spills out into the rest of our lives.

Prayer Ministry

Each Sunday after our Sunday services

At every service, we provide an opportunity to prayed for by our prayer team.  This is a great way to respond to God in a safe and encouraging environment.
