Faith at Home: Intro

Hello! Welcome to the first blog post in the series 'Faith at Home'.

Our Children's Pastor, Steve, will share some thoughts and ideas on how we can encourage our children in their faith journey.

The idea for the 'Faith at Home' blog came out of a passion to see children becoming fully devoted followers of Christ, to see them living their lives in response to all that God has done for them. If our goal and vision is to this happen, then we must make more time to help our children grow in their faith. Faith has to be more than just once a week at church on a Sunday. Sunday's are a really important part of helping children in their faith, but what about the other 6 days of the week?! Over time, we'll look at things in much more depth, but here's a few ideas to get you started:

  • Pray for your child each day
  • Pray with your child each day
  • Talk to them about Jesus
  • Journey with them when they ask those tricky questions(!)
  • Tell them that God loves you and that you love God
  • Tell them that God loves them
  • Listen to worship music at home and when travelling in the car, ask them about the lyrics in the songs.
  • Take interest in what they learn and experience on a Sunday, ask them questions about the story and what it means to them.

In time, we'll cover loads of different topics, from prayer to giving, worship to community, and so much more. If there are any questions or topics that you'd like us to look at, do get in touch as we'd love to hear from you.

I'm really excited about sharing what's on my heart for you and your children, and I pray that God will use the out workings of this blog to draw you and your family closer to Him.
